From an upcoming issue of my newsletter Faithwalk:

Remember the cartoons with the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other trying to convince the person to go their way?  There’s some truth in that!  We have the devil trying to get us to do the wrong thing all the time and we have the Holy Spirit telling us to do the right thing all the time.

Who do we listen to the most?  Remember God does not want lukewarm Christians!

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.           Revelation 3:15 & 16

Between the devil and the deep blue sea

Just finished the Thru the Bible (TTB.org) portion of the Children of Israel passing through the Red Sea. (In Detroit, M-F 11:00 – 11:30 WMUZ 103.5 FM or anytime at TTB.org). This program covers the entire bible in 5 years and I’ve been listening since the 90s. All will be blessed!  The ‘Bible Bus’ as he calls it has been around for 50 years.  Dr. J. Vernon McGee went to heaven in 1984 and his ministry still continues!!  This is his title for this section of Bible Study, and he even has a sermon of this name.  All can be accessed on the website TTB.org

Anyway, one of the scriptures Dr. J. Vernon McGee highlighted today was Exodus 15:18&19 which tells us: The Lord shall reign for ever and ever. For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Remember, the Bible is true and the events really happened. No fairy tales here! Now, what is the problem we are fretting over today? Whatever it is: it is a piece of cake to God! Trust Him and He will work everything out. God’s got you!  And He’s waiting to show you His AWESOMENESS!

My mom passed away April 23, 2009.  How strange that at beginning of September, 2016 I went to call her.  Old habits sometimes don’t die at all.  My mom had me ‘trained’. I had lived on my own since 1989 and I had to call her every day.  One day, I had the nerve to call at 1:00.  “Where you been?” she asked.  “Nowhere, at work as usual.”  “And you’re just now calling me – it’s the afternoon.”

At first, I thought: “Hello – I’m a grown woman, and you’re checking me for not calling in the morning?”  Then I thought: :” That is true love.”  I could have died in my sleep, or gotten into a car accident on the way to work.  She hadn’t talked to me since yesterday, so if my mom wants to hear my voice in the morning…. What’s the harm?

Some kids have no contact with their parents, and their parents could care less.  My mom was letting me know she wanted to hear from her baby girl (even though I was in my late 20s) to start off her day and I’d be happy to oblige!

Remember past deliverances, when Jesus hooked you up so much it left you speechless?  If Jesus had come to your home and sat on your couch and said ‘Child, what do you want me to do for you?’  You would have listed all your desires for the current situation you were faced with.  Then He blesses you and His blessing is 100 times better than what your puny brain had come up with as your perfect solution!

That’s why God tells us His ways are not our ways.  We could never imagine on God’s level.  That being said…. Imagine in your little human imagination what Heaven is going to be like.  Again, He told us: eye has not seen, nor ear heard what he has planned for us.

My saved dad went to Heaven 10/9/95 at the age of 88.  I wondered if his mansion is down the street from mine??

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I Corinthians 2:9

Uggh… now I understand what the man who begged Jesus to heal his son meant! (found in Mark 9) Jesus said all things are possible to those who believe. The man said: Lord I believe, help my unbelief. Huh? He said he believed and immediately said help his unbelief. He was having a FAITH ATTACK. I’m there right now.

But I must remember: Peter really did walk on the water. He only began to sink once he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the raging waves. Matthew 14: 29-33 tells us…..So Jesus said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

I’ve got to remember: God has never let me down, EVER.

Fear not little one.
